    The Desert Community College District Board of Trustees unanimously voted to place a $577,860,000 local education bond measure on the November 2016 ballot.     I met Larry McLaughlin, Director of the COD Desert Energy Enterprise Center, while visiting a local job fair in 2009. I was looking for a job because I was recently laid off. Larry happened to be putting a wind turbine technician course together for the college. I pursued it and was able to attend the first course.

My first day of classes I was called into the College President's office, Roy McCall, where he told me that PSHS had informed them that I was a rebel rouser and a trouble maker. (I marched in PS for Civil Rights and organized the first sit-in at PSHS prior to my Junior Year.)
