Scholarships remain among the most important ways for College of the Desert Foundation and its donors to encourage student success. Scholarships relieve financial burden, offer inspiration and validate the importance of education.

Last year, more than 600 students received $550,000 of support for books, tuition, supplies and other expenses. Through these gifts, donors are helping students pursue their dreams of a college education.

Options available for giving to scholarships include:

Endowed Scholarships - Establish an endowed scholarship with a minimum gift of $25,000. Endowments remain in perpetuity and only draw from the interest on the income for scholarships. Endowments can be established as memorial scholarships or as ways to honor an individual, organization, corporation or foundation.
Existing Endowed Scholarships - Existing endowed scholarship opportunities Include: Adopt-A-Student Nancy H. Bacon Endowment for the Visual Arts Michele Gaines Performing Arts Scholarship Frank Bogert Memorial Scholarship.
Continuing Scholarships - Agree to fund an annual scholarship program for at least five years. Continuing scholarships can be given in the name of an organization, foundation, corporation or individual.
One-Time Contribution - Add your donation to an existing scholarship fund. Many departments have scholarships to support their students.

You can create a gift using cash, bonds, stocks, real estate, bequests, insurance, trusts and other legal instruments. As a donor, you decide:

The basic terms of the award
The award level
Who is eligible for the scholarship
Creative for the award
