Stepping Out for COD

COD Foundation’s “Stepping Out” Returns to the Big Stage to Support Their Most Underserved Students

Join us March 30, 2023 at 7:00pm at the McCallum Theatre

“Stepping Out for COD is not only one of the most important philanthropic events of the year, but it also raises critical donations for the Fund for Student Success. Your generous gift helps the COD Foundation meet the most pressing initiatives on campus, enrich academic programming and resources, and ultimately providing our students the opportunity to spread their wings and achieve their educational dreams.”

Bill Chunowitz, Tom Minder, and Robert Moon, 2023 Co-Chairs

RICKY NELSON REMEMBERED starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson

A musical celebration of America’s first teen idol, rock & roll hall of famer Ricky Nelson emerged from “The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet” to establish himself as one of the most important rock artists and influential musicians of the last 50 years, selling over 140 million recordings.

The Nelson family legacy continues as Ricky’s twins Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Triple Platinum recording artists, present an interactive, multi-media rock & roll concert experience, taking the audience on a musical journey down memory lane. This show is truly a slice of Americana!

Matthew and Gunnar will perform their dad’s greatest hits including “Poor Little Fool”, “Hello Mary Lou”, “Travelin’ Man”, “I’m Walking”, “Garden Party”, alongside their self-penned chart toppers “Love & Affection” and “After the Rain”

Your support will benefit COD Foundation’s Fund for Student Success. Over 70% of students attending COD in March 2020 lost their sources of income and almost half of the students had their living arrangements disrupted. We support our students to fulfill their academic dreams, greatly benefitting our community and ultimately helping your business grow and prosper.

For more than 60 years, COD has made it possible for local students to pursue their academic dreams. In turn, these students become skilled nurses, firefighters, EMTs, chefs, hoteliers, architects, entrepreneurs, and business leaders who give back to our community, as well as generating over $300 million annually to our local economy.

Support our most deserving COD students and purchase tickets here or call 760.340.2787. We look forward to you joining us on March 31st to celebrate this memorable and entertaining evening.

Join Co-Chairs Bill Chunowitz, Tom Minder and Rob Moon in supporting College of the Desert students. Nearly two-thirds of our students qualify for some form of financial assistance, but traditional scholarship support rarely extends to all educational needs. The cost of books and class related supplies alone can cost several thousands of dollars, leaving many students with limited options for program fees and supplies, affordable childcare, technology and equipment. With your support, you can empower students by removing financial barriers. Your generous investment gives them a chance to succeed in college today and create a better life and community tomorrow.
