Stepping Out for COD
Platinum Award-Winning HUMAN NATURE to Headline Stepping Out for COD 2023!
Join us March 30th, 2023 at 7:00pm at the McCallum Theatre
“Stepping Out for COD is not only one of the most important philanthropic events of the year, but it also raises critical donations for the Fund for Student Success. Your generous gift helps the COD Foundation meet the most pressing initiatives on campus, enrich academic programming and resources, and ultimately providing our students the opportunity to spread their wings and achieve their educational dreams.”
Bill Chunowitz, Tom Minder, and Robert Moon, 2023 Co-Chairs
COD Foundation’s most important fundraiser of the year, Stepping Out for COD 2023, will proudly present Motown’s favorite trio, HUMAN NATURE! These global performers are fan favorites and previously sold out the McCallum Theatre. They’ve earned 27 platinum awards, and charted 18 Top 40 singles and five Top 10 hits worldwide. Plus, these Las Vegas headliners have performed on the Strip for over 13 years and have sold out shows around the world.
Stepping Out for COD will be held on March 30th, 2023, at 7:00pm at the McCallum Theatre and will benefit the Fund for Student Success, giving COD students the basic needs to succeed. Presented by Alan and Helen Greene & James and Jessica Greene, Stepping Out will also celebrate COD Foundation’s 40th Anniversary, and their raising over $100 million in the past four decades to support programs and services so COD students are empowered to Spread their Wings to achieve their educational goals.
HUMAN NATURE has performed to global audiences for decades, from the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympics to opening for Michael Jackson and Celine Dion at concerts around the world. They have appeared on U.S. television shows including The Talk, The Chew, Oprah, and Dancing with the Stars, as well as their own PBS specials – Human Nature Sings Motown and Human Nature “Jukebox”.
HUMAN NATURE is Australia’s biggest-selling boy band, producing impeccable, soulful harmonies and slick dance moves that bring to life Motown’s most iconic songs and their own original chart-topping songs. Brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney along with Toby Allen will perform “Get Ready,” “Tracks of My Tears,” “Uptight,” “Reach Out (I’ll Be There),” “Stop in the Name of Love,” and many more favorites.
Support our most deserving COD students! Purchase tickets here or call 760.340.2787. We look forward to you joining us on March 30th to celebrate this memorable and entertaining evening.
(Originally scheduled to perform was “Ricky Nelson Remembered” starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, but a scheduling conflict precluded their attendance.)
Sponsorships
Join Co-Chairs Bill Chunowitz, Tom Minder and Rob Moon in supporting College of the Desert students. Nearly two-thirds of our students qualify for some form of financial assistance, but traditional scholarship support rarely extends to all educational needs. The cost of books and class related supplies alone can cost several thousands of dollars, leaving many students with limited options for program fees and supplies, affordable childcare, technology and equipment. With your support, you can empower students by removing financial barriers. Your generous investment gives them a chance to succeed in college today and create a better life and community tomorrow.
